Here's how you can help tell the truth about farmers
Our job is simple:
We're working to protect the future of Washington's family farms by telling the truth about these farms.
Why do we have to do that?
Because there are a growing number of lawyers, anti-farm activists, legislators, union organizers and other that are saying things about our farms that just aren't true.
You may ask: isn't that being negative?
There are a great many wonderful farm organizations that focus on the positive information about our farms, these include the state commodity agencies representing various farming types. We also have wonderful farm associations and groups that work with out government legislators and administration officials to help communicate farmers' messages. But who is reaching the general public to make sure they get the facts straight? That's our unique job.
We started with countering the maliciously false attack on farmers called What's Upstream. It was bad enough a group of anti-farm activists said all kinds of things that weren't true about today's farming and the environment. What made it a whole lot worse was that we taxpayers paid for it through a grant from the EPA to the northwest tribes. We're helping to make sure this abuse of your tax dollars is prevented and these kinds of lies about farming aren't allowed to go without challenge.
We can't do this alone. Here's how you can help:
1) Register to get updates so you can stay informed of what is being done
2) If you are a member of a farm group or organization, let them know it is important to you that farmers of all kinds across the state support this effort
3) Write, phone or email your elected representatives expressing your concern about this illegal attack on farmers--this website will have updated help including contact information
4) Help support this effort with your contribution. Click as many of the options listed to contribute the amount you want.
